Breast augmentation is ideal for individuals looking to enhance the size and shape of their breasts, correct asymmetry, or restore breast volume lost after weight reduction or pregnancy.

Want to enhance your breasts for a more desirable look.
Polaris Plastic Surgery offers two primary methods for breast augmentation:

Breast Implants
Breast implants are ideal for enhancing breast size, shape, and volume—commonly chosen for aesthetic reasons or after pregnancy or weight loss.
At Polaris Plastic Surgery, breast augmentation is customised to suit each patient:
Implant Types
Silicone or saline options available in various shapes and sizes.
Anaesthesia
Performed under general anaesthesia or local anaesthesia with sedation.
Incision Sites
Small, discreet incisions placed either: under the breast (inframammary), around the areola (peri-areolar) or in the armpit (transaxilary).
Implant Placement
Positioned either: above the muscle (sub glandular) or below the muscle
(sub muscular), depending on tissue volume.

Fat Grafting
Fat grafting is ideal for those seeking a natural-looking, moderate increase in breast size using their body’s own fat.
At Polaris Plastic Surgery, the procedure is tailored to enhance specific areas of the breast:
Natural Enhancement
Fat is gently removed from areas like the thighs or abdomen via liposuction, then purified using a centrifuge.
Anaesthesia & Day Surgery
Typically performed as day surgery under general anaesthesia, especially when larger volumes of fat are needed.
Minimal Scarring
Tiny incisions are made for fat removal and injection, resulting in virtually invisible scars.
Precise Fat Injection
Purified fat is carefully injected into the breast to shape and add volume, promoting natural integration and long-lasting results.
A breast lift is ideal for individuals experiencing sagging breasts due to aging, after pregnancy, or significant weight loss and desire to restore the youthful shape and firmness of their breasts.
At Polaris Plastic Surgery, breast lifts are personalised to each patient’s needs:
Crescent Lift: Minor lifting using a small incision along the top half of the areola.
Peri-Areolar Lift (“Donut” Lift): Ideal for correcting mild sagging with an incision around the areola.
Vertical Lift (“Lollipop” Lift): Addresses moderate sagging and reshaping, involving an incision around the areola and vertically down to the breast fold.
Inverted T Lift (“Anchor” Lift): Used for significant sagging, this method involves an incision around the areola, vertically down and along the breast crease.
The breast lift procedure is usually done under deep sedation or general anaesthesia. The surgery involves pre-surgical discussions about scar placement and breast shape, with no need for surgical drains. Post-operatively, patients may experience mild pain controlled with painkillers and should expect bruising to subside within two weeks. A support bra is necessary for four to six weeks, and patients can gradually return to exercise, fully resuming activities after a month. The final results are typically visible three months after the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is breast augmentation a one-time procedure? How long do breast implants last?
Breast augmentation with implants is a one-time procedure, while breast augmentation with fat grafting may require a few sessions to achieve the shape and size that you desire.
However, fat grafting has longevity, while implants initiate a capsule formation around them which may give rise to deformity and pain. While they may last longer, the usual timeframe for symptoms is 10 years. If warranted, implant removal or replacement with implants or fat grafts can be done at that time.
What is the right age for breast augmentation?
Breast augmentation can be done at any age once breasts are fully developed, which usually occurs by 18 years old, though in some individuals this may occur a few years later.
There is no limit to the age that breast augmentation can be done, though factors such as skin quality and medical suitability for the procedure will be taken into consideration.
What function do breast implants serve? Can I breastfeed after my breast augmentation?
Breast implants are not functional and serve as a filler to enhance the size and shape of the breast. Breast sensation should not be affected much, and breast feeding is safe after breast augmentation, whether they are with implants or with fat grafting.
How long do the results of a breast lift last?
While a breast lift provides long-lasting results, factors such as aging, gravity, and weight fluctuations can influence its longevity. Maintaining a stable weight and healthy lifestyle helps prolong the results.
Will there be visible scars after a breast lift procedure?
Scars are an inevitable part of the surgery but are placed discreetly. They typically fade significantly over time and can be further minimized with proper care.
What are the risks involved in breast augmentation or breast lift procedure?
While generally safe, as with any surgery, potential risks include bleeding, infection, changes in nipple sensation, scarring, implant leakage or rupture, and the need for revision surgery. These risks are minimised by choosing an experienced board-certified surgeon like our doctors at Polaris and following all pre- and post-operative care instructions.
